On October 13, 1973, Víctor Iván VIDAL TEJEDA, 16 years old, a high school student, died.
He was detained by military personnel in the La Pincoya neighborhood, who took him to the neighborhood soccer field and subsequently, presumably, to the location where they were stationed in Quinta Normal. The detainee's mother went to this facility, but her searches were unsuccessful.
Two months later, the mother found a file at the Legal Medical Institute containing her son's records, which indicated that he had been transported to that location at 01:00 hours on October 14. The body had allegedly been buried in Patio 29 of the General Cemetery.
The autopsy protocol states that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. The body was found on a public street at 22:30 hours on the same day of his detention.
Considering the detention to be proven and taking into account the cause of death and the date thereof, which occurred on the same day as the detention, the Commission reached the conviction that Víctor Vidal was a victim of human rights violations, attributable to the actions of State agents.
