Aldo Sacco Valencia died that day at 17:30 hours, on a public thoroughfare, due to an accidental epigastric gunshot wound, as certified by the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.

According to the official version, he was wounded when another uniformed officer’s service weapon discharged accidentally.

At the time of the events, Aldo Sacco was participating in a military operation in the Rodelillo sector. His death was classified by naval authorities as having occurred in the line of duty.

Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council, taking into account the era and the cause of death, declared Aldo Sacco Valencia a victim of the prevailing political violence.
