On October 3, 1973, Sergio FUENTES SILVA, 44 years old, a street vendor, died.
In the first days of October, the victim left his home to run some errands and did not return. When his family made inquiries to determine his whereabouts, they went to the Legal Medical Institute, where they learned of his death.
The body had been previously cremated by administrative authorities. According to the autopsy report, the cause of death was: "gunshot wound to the face and cranium, with projectile exit." The date of death was October 3.
Although the specific circumstances of his death are unknown, considering especially the cause and date thereof, this Commission has formed the conviction that Sergio Fuentes died as a consequence of the situation of political violence prevailing in the country at that time.
