On October 20, 1973, the following individuals were executed:

Sergio Orlando CANDIA SALINAS, 28 years old, slaughterhouse worker at the Lo Valledor slaughterhouse.

Carlos Octavio CHAMORRO SALINAS, 18 years old, tailor's assistant.

Jaime Alberto VEAS SALINAS, 21 years old, slaughterhouse worker at the Lo Valledor slaughterhouse.

Miguel Angel PONCE CONTRERAS, 18 years old.

All of them were arrested that day in the San Gregorio neighborhood by Carabineros officers and taken to the Carabineros station in the neighborhood. When their relatives went to the police unit to inquire about those affected, the police officers told them that they were being held "on suspicion" and would be released hours later.

On that same day, October 20, the lifeless bodies of these four individuals appeared abandoned in different locations in Santiago, bearing numerous gunshot wounds. The date, time, and place of death are documented in the respective death certificates, which indicate the date of October 20, 1973, at 11:00 PM, at Barros Arana and Eucaliptus in the case of Sergio Candia; on Camino a Melipilla for Jaime Veas; and at Padre Hurtado in the cases of Miguel Ponce and Carlos Chamorro.

Bearing in mind the manner in which these events occurred, this Commission reached the conviction that they were all executed by State agents, becoming victims of the violation of their right to life.
