On December 6, 1973, Sergio Hernán RAMIREZ PEÑA, 17 years old, a student, died.
At the moment Ramírez was leaving his home located in the La Legua neighborhood, a military patrol passed by while pursuing some young people; they opened fire and struck him, causing his death.
The autopsy report indicates the cause of death as a "cervical gunshot wound, with projectile exit," adding that "the trajectory followed by the projectile is from back to front, from right to left, and from bottom to top."
In accordance with the evidence presented, this Commission has formed the conviction that Sergio Ramírez died as a consequence of the excessive and indiscriminate use of force, and he is therefore considered a victim of human rights violations by agents of the State.
