On October 14, 1973, Segundo del Carmen LIRA BRAVO, a 28-year-old plumber, was executed. At the beginning of that same month, he was detained in front of witnesses by Ejército personnel who were conducting a raid in the La Legua neighborhood.
Days later, his family found his body at the Instituto Médico Legal. He presented multiple gunshot wounds to the face, cranium, thorax, and abdomen, with exit wounds. According to the death certificate, his death occurred on October 14, 1973.
Bearing in mind the circumstances of the detention and death mentioned above, this Commission has reached the conviction that Segundo Lira Bravo was a victim of a human rights violation, having been executed by State agents.
