On September 24, 1973, Roberto Hernán CACERES SANTIBAÑEZ, 16 years old, a street vendor, was executed after being detained by Carabineros personnel.
Following his detention, he was taken to the Fourth Carabineros Precinct. Days later, his body was found at the Legal Medical Institute, where it had been sent by the Military Prosecutor's Office. He presented multiple gunshot wounds.
The autopsy report indicates that the location of death was the corner of Avda. Departamental and Macul, with the time of death recorded as September 24 at 11:00 hrs.
Having verified the detention and taking into account the cause of death, the Commission has reached the conviction that Roberto Hernán Cáceres was executed outside of all legality and is a victim of a human rights violation attributable to the actions of state agents.
