Ricardo Aldo Solari Longo died that day at 21:45 hours at the Posta Central, due to a transfixing gunshot wound to the left thoracic bronchial area, as attested by the Death Certificate and the Autopsy Protocol.

According to statements from witnesses and family members, at 17:00 hours that day, Ricardo Solari went out for a walk in the area of Calle Pío Nono, where he had been staying overnight after celebrating the New Year's holidays.

As he passed the first block of Calle Vicuña Mackenna, uniformed personnel fired at him. On January 2, the family learned that his body was at the Instituto Médico Legal, where it was identified by them.
