Lorenzo Rivera Ramírez was detained on an unspecified day that month, around 9:00 p.m., in an area of Playa de Lota, by a military patrol that took him to an unknown destination. He has been forcibly disappeared ever since.
According to what eyewitnesses told his family, Lorenzo Rivera confronted a military patrol regarding the events of September 11. The uniformed officers arrested him, and since then, all news of him has been unknown.
His family searched for him in hospitals, morgues, and detention centers in the area, without success. Furthermore, his disappearance was reported to the Carabineros police stations in Lota Alto and Lota Bajo. However, there is no record that the Carabineros reported this incident to the Courts of Justice at the time.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation carried out by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Lorenzo Rivera Ramírez was detained by State agents and disappeared while being held in that status. For this reason, it declared him a victim of human rights violations.
