On February 8, 1975, Pedro Claudio LABRA SAURE, a student apparently linked to the MIR, died in Santiago.
The government informed the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the Organization of American States (IACHR-OAS) that his death was the result, as in the cases of other individuals, of "various confrontations with police or security agents while participating in criminal, subversive, or sabotage activities," without specifying the concrete situation that involved him, the parties involved, or the circumstances of his death.
However, the truth of the events is different, as it has been established that the victim was arrested at his home by security agents who were seen by neighbors, and that during the act, the victim was wounded by gunfire but was taken away by his captors while still alive.
Subsequently, Pedro Labra's body was found at the Legal Medical Institute, where three gunshot wounds were confirmed on him, in addition to numerous puncture wounds. The Commission is convinced, in light of the aforementioned elements, that the victim was executed by DINA agents in violation of his human rights.
