Patricio Wenceslao León Fuentes died that day at 8:00 hours on Calle Bernal del Mercado, due to abdominal and thoracic gunshot wounds, as certified by the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
According to eyewitnesses, Patricio León was detained on October 11, 1973, by Carabineros officers from the Dávila neighborhood, in front of the local polyclinic while he was waiting to be seen. Although his family informed the captors that he was ill, they refused to release him.
The following day, his body was found in front of a school on Calle Bernal del Mercado.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Patricio Wenceslao León Fuentes, while in detention, was extrajudicially executed by State agents, a situation constituting a human rights violation.
