On September 21, 1973, Patricio Enrique MANRIQUEZ NORAMBUENA, 17 years old, a student and member of the Juventudes Comunistas, was executed.
The previous day, he was detained by carabineros from the Fourth Precinct, who raided his home and took him away along with his books. The following day, at the police unit to which the officers belonged, it was reported that the detainee had been transferred to the Estadio Nacional, which proved to be false.
On the 22nd, Patricio Manríquez's body was found beside the train tracks in the Lira sector, presenting multiple gunshot wounds, as indicated by the respective death certificate. Next to the body were the books that the captors had taken from the minor's home.
The Commission reached the conviction that the execution of Patricio Manríquez Norambuena constituted a grave violation of his fundamental rights, resulting from the actions of State agents. This conviction is based on the fact that his detention is fully corroborated by credible testimonies, the victim's political affiliation, and the condition and location in which his body was found.
