Also on September 12, 1973, Oscar Armando FARIAS URZUA, 33 years old, a member of the Partido Socialista and an interventor at the Compañía Cervecera Parma, was detained by Armada personnel at his workplace.
From there, he was taken to the Base Aeronaval El Belloto and subsequently brought to testify at the Fiscalía Naval. He died on September 20, 1973, while in the custody of his captors.
The Commission formed the conviction that Oscar Farías was executed by State agents, based especially on the following reasons: the naval authority carried out his detention and transferred him to the Base Aeronaval El Belloto.
While he was detained, the naval authorities acknowledged his death to his family and released his body; the death certificate indicates the cause of death as three gunshot wounds, and the place of death as the Instituto Médico Legal, which is implausible as that is a facility intended only to receive individuals who are already deceased.
