On October 8, 1973, also in Galvarino, five people died as a result of the actions of a patrol composed of members of the Ejército and Carabineros from Lautaro, accompanied by a local civilian. The victims were executed at the very place where they lived and were buried by their relatives. In most cases, the deaths were not officially certified.

Julio Augusto ÑIRIPIL PAILLAO, 16 years old, a farmer from the Huincaleo community. At 3:00 a.m., the aforementioned patrol arrived at his home and executed him in the yard. His mother collected his body and buried him.

Juan Segundo NAHUEL HUAIQUIMIL, a small-scale farmer and member of the local Supply and Price Board (JAP), was executed at 2:00 a.m. at his home.

Segundo LEPIN ANTILAF, 30 years old, a small-scale farmer, who was tied up, beaten, and executed in the vicinity of his home. His family collected his body and buried him.

Heriberto COLLIO NAIN, 63 years old, a farmer, who was beaten with a door bolt by members of the aforementioned patrol and then left wounded. He died in his home around eight o'clock in the morning.

Víctor YANQUIN TROPA, a farmer, lived in the Huincaleo community. The same patrol beat him in front of witnesses, leaving him severely wounded. He died a few hours later.

The available information regarding the manner in which these events unfolded allows this Commission to form the conviction that Julio Ñiripil, Juan Nahuel, Segundo Lepín, Heriberto Collío, and Víctor Llanquien were victims of grave human rights violations at the hands of State agents, who executed them outside of all legality.
