The victim's body was found by his relatives at the Instituto Médico Legal, where it had been sent after being discovered on a public thoroughfare on the north bank of the Mapocho River, near the Manuel Rodríguez bridge.
The body showed gunshot wounds to the cranium, according to the corresponding death certificate; however, the autopsy report indicates that the body had nearly 18 gunshot wounds. The body was ultimately buried in plot 29 of the Cementerio General.
The Commission has reached the conviction that Pedro Guevara Muñoz was executed as a result of the political violence of the period, with the presumption that the perpetrators were agents of the State.
