Gonzalo Moreira Sandoval is one of the intelligence agents who infiltrated the Ñuble Regional [branch of the MIR]; he came from the Carabineros Intelligence unit.

Moreira Sandoval was born on March 19, 1949, in Río Bueno, Osorno, Región de los Ríos. He completed the "C" Basic Military Intelligence Course for Civilians and the 1967/68 Carabineros School training programs, alongside other students who became agents with criminal records, such as Captain Jorge Maturana Concha and Fernando Maturana Concha, brothers of the individual who infiltrated the military tasks of the Concepción Regional Committee, Patricio Maturana Concha, alias "Pascual." Moreira arrived to militate in the Ñuble Regional branch of the MIR before the coup d'état, serving as nothing less than the person in charge of information at EFE85, tasks that were under the responsibility of Ricardo Aurelio Troncoso Muñoz, alias "El Gordo Arturo." Because it was not discovered that Moreira was an undercover agent, and the comrades of the Ñuble Regional branch were unaware that this subject was an infiltrated mole—as regularly tends to happen—as his comrades were being targeted by the repression or falling into detention, he climbed the ranks until he was working with the leadership in Chillán.

This organizational ascent was due to the fact that he was considered a trusted militant, as he had previously worked with Troncoso Muñoz, Oscar Angulo, alias "El Flaco," and with Rolando Angulo, alias "Juan Carlos." Thus, he was only discovered when the investigation into the death of Rolando Angulo was conducted.

Currently, the agent Gonzalo Moreira lives in France; he owns a company that imports agricultural machinery from China and trades in the sale of wines from his own harvest. He is domiciled at 4 Rue Alsace Lorraine 66720, Tautavel.
