Domingo Pérez San Martín, 39 years old, died on October 29, 1973, at 11:30 hrs. in Valdivia, XIV Region, due to multiple injuries and beatings. He was a union leader at a wood laminating company and worked as a caretaker for the land where houses for the union members were to be built.

He lived on that land alone with his children, aged 13, 11, 10, and 6, as his wife had passed away one month earlier. On October 28, a military patrol arrived at his home, where they subjected him to a beating that left him in an agonizing state.

During the morning of the following day, the children managed to take him to the hospital, where he died a few hours later. The information gathered by this Commission allowed for the formation of a conviction regarding the intervention of State agents in the death of the victim.
