On September 30, 1973, Mario Emiliano STAPPUNG LOPEZ, 30 years old, a laborer and militant of the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria (MIR), was executed after being detained that same day at his home by Fuerza Aérea personnel.
The victim was an active militant and, according to his family, had close contact with Miguel Enríquez. After his detention, his relatives searched for him without success, until they were informed at the Instituto Médico Legal that the victim was buried in section 29 of the Cementerio General.
The autopsy report indicates that the cause of death was "multiple gunshot wounds" and the date of death was the same as that of his detention.
Having reliably verified the detention and taking into account the cause and date of death, the Commission formed the conviction that Mario Emiliano Stappung was executed by state agents, in violation of human rights.
