According to testimonies from family members, the three young men were detained in the days immediately following September 11, 1973, by military personnel and carabineros, at their respective homes in the Parque Santa Mónica neighborhood, in the commune of Conchalí, a sector where various operations were carried out.
Their bodies were found by their relatives at the Legal Medical Institute alongside those of brothers Arturo and Francisco Deila Santos, who were detained in the same neighborhood on nearby dates; the cases of the latter were known to this Corporation and declared victims of human rights violations.
Considering the background information gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Carlos Omar Bastidas Zegers, José Antonio Del Pero Bustos, and Mario Antonio Gallardo Villagrán were executed by State agents outside of any legal process, while they were being held deprived of their liberty.
For this reason, it declared them victims of human rights violations.
