Marco Antonio Navarrete Clavijo died that day at 14:00 hours, at the Barros Luco Hospital, due to a gunshot wound to the left molar with an exit wound, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
The minor, along with two siblings, was residing at the Ciudad del Niño, located on Gran Avenida. According to what was reported to his father by said institution and what was declared by his siblings, on September 11, around 10:00 hours, the child was playing in the courtyard during a break.
At that moment, he was struck by a projectile coming from the outside, which wounded him directly in the face; he passed away while en route to the Barros Luco Hospital. There was constant gunfire in the area that day.
Considering the time period and the cause of death, the Superior Council declared Marco Antonio Navarrete Clavijo a victim of the prevailing political violence.
