On September 21, 1973, at approximately 7:45 p.m., personnel from the Walker Martínez Carabineros station proceeded to arrest the following three people at their home:
-Alamiro Segundo GONZALEZ SAAVEDRA, 41 years old, merchant.
-Manuel José GONZALEZ ALLENDE, 16 years old, student.
-Simón Cirineo ALLENDE FUENZALIDA, 26 years old, merchant.
According to witnesses to the events, the uniformed officers were in a state of intoxication and raided the victims' home during the arrest. Furthermore, Alamiro González was wounded in the leg in front of his house at the time of the arrest. The following day, family members found the victims' bodies in the area of the Pio Nono bridge, on the banks of the Mapocho River.
This Commission has reached the conviction that the deaths of Alamiro González Saavedra, Manuel Antonio González Allende, and Simón Allende Fuenzalida were political executions carried out outside of any legal process and constitute a grave violation of human rights, especially the right to life, perpetrated by State agents.
This conviction is based on the fact that the detention of the victims is documented and that their bodies were found on the banks of the Mapocho River with gunshot wounds, as indicated by the respective death certificates. The date of death was established as the same day, September 21.
