Manuel BRICEÑO BRICEÑO, a non-specialized service employee at the Hospital San Juan de Dios, was executed on September 18.
He was detained on September 17 along with other staff members inside the hospital facility by military personnel belonging to the Yungay Regiment of San Felipe. The location where he was held is unknown, though it is presumed to have been at the aforementioned educational center.
He was executed the day after his detention; according to the autopsy performed, "the deceased was transported from the public thoroughfare to the Institute (Legal Medical Institute)" and the cause of his death was "multiple complicated thoraco-abdominal gunshot wounds."
Considering the circumstances of his detention, the cause of his death, and the manner in which his body was found, this Commission has formed the conviction that Manuel Briceño Briceño was executed without any trial or justification by agents of the State, who violated his right to life.
