On December 16, 1980, Manuel ESPINOZA BRAVO, 52 years of age, passed away.
This individual died as a consequence of an assault carried out by members of the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria (MIR) on the Banco de Chile branch located on Avenida Pedro Aguirre Cerda, in the city of Santiago. The victim was watching over parked cars and, upon noticing the robbery, attempted to flee to alert the police, but was shot by one of the assailants during the attempt.
This Commission has reached the conviction that Manuel Espinoza Bravo was killed by members of the MIR in an act that constitutes a grave violation of human rights.
