Manuel Antonio Chamorro Torres died that day at 8:00 hours, at the intersection of Rodrigo de Araya and Santa Julia, due to an intrathoracic gunshot wound, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
According to his mother's statement, he left his home that day to go to his workplace, but was intercepted by members of the Fuerza Aérea of Chile, who informed him that due to the curfew there was no public transportation, and that he should return home.
Shortly after, he went out again, this time to buy bread, and was shot in the back by officials from the same institution at the corner of Calle Rodrigo de Araya and Santa Julia, according to the testimony of a neighbor who witnessed the event. It should be noted that on that day, the curfew ended at 6:30 hours.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council, taking into account the era, circumstances, and cause of death, declared Manuel Antonio Chamorro Torres a victim of the prevailing political violence.
