According to the records, his body was sent by the Second Military Court of Santiago to the Legal Medical Institute and buried as a "John Doe" (NN) in Patio No. 29 of the General Cemetery, without his family's knowledge. The death registration was requested by this Court on September 30, 1973, and carried out on October 4, 1973, by the Civil Registry and Identification Service.
There is no record of a judicial investigation being initiated by the aforementioned military court regarding the discovery of his body in order to determine the violent circumstances of his death.
Based on the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council, although unable to determine the circumstances of his death, taking into account the time and cause of death and the place of burial, declared Luis Landy Pincheira Díaz a victim of the prevailing political violence.
