Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos[1]
Luis Francisco Rivera Carreño died that day at 23:30 hours, on a public street, due to a blunt craniocerebral injury and multiple gunshot wounds to the neck, face, thorax, and lumbar-abdominal region with exit wounds, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
According to family members, he arrived at his home in the Pudahuel neighborhood at approximately 21:00 hours that day, while the curfew was already in effect, in a state of intoxication. He told his spouse that he had fled from a military patrol after disobeying an order to halt.
Almost immediately, military personnel arrived at the scene and proceeded to take him away to an unknown destination. On October 6, 1973, his body was found at the Legal Medical Institute.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Luis Francisco Rivera Carreño was executed by State agents outside of any legal process while he was in custody. Consequently, it declared him a victim of human rights violations.
