Lorenzo Calfil disappeared that day after being detained by Carabineros officers at his home in the Rebeca Matte neighborhood, in the Ñuñoa commune, and since that moment, there has been no further news regarding his whereabouts.

According to witness statements, Lorenzo Calfil was a well-known militant of the Partido Comunista and, at the time of his detention, was engaged in clandestine party activities.

His family carried out an intense search and undertook various legal procedures to find him, all of which proved fruitless.

Considering the evidence received and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Lorenzo Calfil Huichamán was forcibly disappeared by State agents who held him in detention. For this reason, it declared him a victim of human rights violations.
