Lincoyán Carlos Huenul López died that day at 21:30 hours, on a public street, from two gunshot wounds with exit points, one to the face and cranium and the other to the abdomen, according to the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.

According to the statement provided by his spouse, on September 15, 1973, neighbors informed her that their home had been raided by Carabineros officers from the Lo Herrera police station and that her husband had been detained.

That same day, she visited him at the aforementioned police station, where she observed that he was blindfolded and his hands were tied. He was very frightened and did not respond when she tried to speak to him. A Carabineros officer was present throughout the entire encounter.

The following day, at 8:00 hours, his spouse returned to the police station with food for Lincoyán Huenul. However, she was informed that he was no longer there, and she was given evasive answers to her inquiries regarding where he had been transferred.

Finally, they instructed her to go to the Estadio Nacional. His detention was not registered at this prisoner camp. His spouse also inquired at the Ministry of Defense, without receiving a response. At that office, they only suggested that she look for him at the Legal Medical Institute, where she found his body on September 26.

Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Lincoyán Carlos Huenul López was executed outside of any legal process by State agents, who violated his human rights.
