On September 15, 1973, Juan Fernando VASQUEZ RIVEROS, 15 years old, a secondary school student, died.
On September 13, at approximately 17:30 hours, while the curfew in Santiago had not yet begun (it was in effect from 18:00 hours), the victim was passing by on the street while a Carabineros platoon was raiding the FERRILOZA company union hall.
Without any order to halt, they proceeded to fire upon him. Wounded, he was transported to the Hospital José Joaquín Aguirre, where he died on September 15 as a result of an "abdominal gunshot wound."
Having verified the circumstances of the event, this Commission has reached the conviction that Fernando Vásquez fell victim to the political violence of the period.
