Juan Félix Videla Alvarez died that day at 3:30 hours, at the Ejército Aviation Command in Peñalolén, due to a thoracic gunshot wound with an exit projectile, as certified by the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
According to testimonies gathered by the family, in the early hours of the day of the events, around 2:30 hours, Juan Videla was returning to his home in the Villa Naciones Unidas, on Calle José Arrieta, near the Peñalolén Air Command.
