Juan Carlos Sanhueza Sanhueza, a militant of the Partido Comunista, disappeared that day after being detained by Carabineros officers on Calle Barros Arana in the city of Concepción.
According to the statements of an eyewitness, Juan Carlos Sanhueza was detained in the city center, around 6:00, as he was getting off the truck where he worked as an assistant. The other assistant managed to flee and recounted what happened to the family, who carried out an intense search in the various detention centers in the area without obtaining positive results, as the authorities consistently denied his arrest.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Juan Carlos Sanhueza Sanhueza was detained by State agents and disappeared while being held in that status. For this reason, it declared him a victim of human rights violations.
