José Orlando Fuenzalida Madrid died that day at 2:00 hours, in the Lo Valledor sector, due to abdominal and thoracic gunshot wounds, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.

Eyewitnesses stated that José Fuenzalida was detained on October 21, around 22:50 hours, at his home located in the José María Caro neighborhood, by Carabineros officers who entered the residence violently. In the presence of his three siblings and a neighbor, he was taken out while being beaten and placed into a pickup truck that departed for an unknown destination.

His body was found the following day in the Lo Valledor Slaughterhouse sector.

Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation carried out by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that José Orlando Fuenzalida Madrid, while in detention, was executed by State agents outside of any legal process, a situation constituting a violation of human rights.
