All of them died that day, between 4:00 and 15:00 hours, on a public thoroughfare, due to multiple gunshot wounds, as recorded in the respective Medical Death Certificates from the Legal Medical Institute.

According to statements made by family members and a survivor, that early morning, while the aforementioned individuals were sleeping in their respective homes in the Lo Valledor Norte neighborhood, then part of the Maipú commune, they were detained by carabineros from the Cerrillos sub-precinct.

As recounted by the survivor, that night the carabineros loaded the five of them onto a truck that took them directly to some sand pits located in Lo Errázuriz, where they were forced to get out and stand in a row in front of one of the pits, and were then fired upon with bursts of gunfire.

The survivor recounted that they realized they were going to be killed and that he, instinctively, crouched down and threw himself into the pit. He sustained 13 bullet wounds to his body. His family rescued him from that place the following day and took him to an emergency center. The others died at the same location, and their bodies were retrieved by their families the following day.

Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Luis Armando Arias Ramírez, José Delimiro Fierro Morales, Mario Alejandro Valdés Chávez, and Jorge Enrique Vásquez Escobar were detained by State agents for the purpose of executing them outside of any legal process.

For this reason, it declared them victims of human rights violations.
