On December 19, 1973, the following individuals were executed:
-Jorge Pedro PACHECO DURAN, 20 years old, artisan, militant of the Izquierda Cristiana;
-Denrio Max ALVAREZ OLIVARES, 17 years old, student and university leader, communist militant.
These individuals were detained by Investigaciones officers at the home of the former on December 3, 1973. Along with them, several other leftist militants were detained, who were later released.
They were taken to the Central Headquarters of the Investigaciones Police, then to the Public Jail, and finally to the Buin Regiment to be interrogated. At this location, the trail of the detainees was lost, and their lifeless bodies later appeared at the Legal Medical Institute.
The autopsy report for Alvarez indicates the cause of death as "gunshot wound," and the death certificate for Pacheco notes "thoracic gunshot wounds (3) and craniocerebral (1)."
The Commission has formed the conviction that the aforementioned victims were executed by State agents in an act of grave violation of their human rights. This conviction is supported by the fact that their detentions are documented; the cause of their deaths was gunshot wounds; their political militancy; and the fact that they died while in the custody of police and military personnel who provided no official explanation whatsoever for their deaths.
