On October 11, 1973, Joaquín Segundo MONTECINOS ROJAS, a 44-year-old furniture maker, died.
According to the account provided by his family members, the victim had been detained that same day during a raid carried out by Carabineros in the Población San Ramón. Subsequently, they learned at the Instituto Médico Legal that Joaquín Montecinos's body had been admitted to that facility and that the cause of death was gunshot wounds, as stated in the corresponding certificate.
He had already been buried in section 29 of the Cementerio General.
The Commission, in consideration of the circumstances existing in the country at the time of the events, the cause of death, and taking into account that the prior detention of the victim could not be conclusively proven, reached the conviction that he died as a consequence of the prevailing political violence.
