Jéssica del Carmen Riffo Troncoso died that day at 22:30 hours, at the Hospital Félix Bulnes, due to a cardiopulmonary thoracic gunshot wound, as certified by the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.

According to her father's account, the minor was inside their home located in the población Herminda de la Victoria, in the commune of Cerro Navia. During the curfew, and at a time when numerous shots were being heard, she was struck by a projectile coming from the outside that pierced the wooden wall of the dwelling, causing her death at the scene.

Considering the gathered evidence and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council, taking into account the circumstances of her death, the period in which it occurred, and its cause, reached the conviction that Jéssica del Carmen Riffo Troncoso was a victim of the prevailing political violence.
