Also on September 7, another confrontation was officially reported, which occurred on Calle Janaqueo in Santiago, and which was allegedly linked to the previous one and to the search for those responsible for the death of General Carol Urzúa.

It was stated that after the events at Fuenteovejuna had concluded, the personnel moved to Calle Janaqueo No. 5707 with the aim of arresting other individuals. However, this was not possible as the occupants of the aforementioned property offered armed resistance.

As a result of the exchange of gunfire, Hugo Norberto RATIER NOGUERA, an Argentine national and MIR militant, was killed in the courtyard of his house, and Alejandro SALGADO TROQUIAN, a veterinarian and MIR militant, died two blocks from that house, from where he had fled.

The Commission has verified, based on the evidence at its disposal, that this version is also false, given that the latter individual was killed as he approached his home by CNI agents who shot him at point-blank range without any resistance on his part.

Immediately after this occurred, the agents began firing at the house where Hugo Ratier was located with the same .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a Jeep that they had used against the Fuenteovejuna property, killing him without him having confronted them.

Prior to these events, the agents had gathered the neighborhood residents, about 80 people, in a local church.

The Commission reached the conviction that both individuals were executed by state agents, in violation of their human rights.
