Hugo Néstor Arredondo Sánchez died on the indicated date, on a public thoroughfare, due to a gunshot wound to the cranium with an exit wound, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate issued by the Legal Medical Institute.

According to information provided by his family, the adolescent disappeared from his home in Los Andes on September 6, 1973. He was accustomed to leaving his home without a specific destination for long periods, after which he would always return, but on this occasion, he did not. His family attempted to locate him and, having no success, reported his case to human rights organizations.

In 1991, during an investigation conducted by the Third Criminal Court of Santiago regarding the disappearance of several individuals, it was established that he had been buried in Patio No. 29 of the General Cemetery of Santiago, without his family's knowledge.

Based on the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, despite the inability to establish the precise circumstances of his death, given the time period and the cause of death, the Superior Council declared Hugo Néstor Arredondo Sánchez a victim of the prevailing political violence.
