On September 11, 1973, Hugo Fernando SANDOVAL IBAÑEZ, 28 years old, an employee, was killed.
On the indicated day, the victim left his home and did not return. Days later, his family was informed that he had been wounded by gunfire and was hospitalized at the Posta Central. Upon arriving at said medical center, they were informed that he had passed away on September 14, as a result of "multiple complicated thoracic and lumbar-abdominal gunshot wounds," as indicated in the respective death certificate.
The Commission, having received no testimony regarding the precise circumstances that led to the death of Hugo Sandoval, formed the conviction that he lost his life as a result of the violence existing in the country at that time. This conviction is based on the direct cause of death and the date of its occurrence.
