MUÑOZ ROJAS, GILBERTO ANTONIO: 17 years old, single, market assistant, executed on March 24, 1974, in Santiago.

SANDOVAL ASTORGA, JORGE LUIS: 17 years old, single, market vendor, executed on March 24, 1974, in Santiago.

Roberto Ernesto Barahona Palma died that day at 11:35 hours, at the intersection of Américo Vespucio and Recoleta, due to two gunshot wounds with exit wounds, one to the cranium and one to the thorax, as recorded in his Death Certificate.

Gilberto Antonio Muñoz Rojas died that day at 19:30 hours, at the Hospital José Joaquín Aguirre, due to a gunshot wound to the cranium, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.

Jorge Luis Sandoval Astorga also died that day at 0:40 hours, at the intersection of Américo Vespucio and Recoleta, due to three gunshot wounds—to the cranium and thorax—and subsequent acute anemia, as recorded in the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.

According to the statements of their family members and an eyewitness, Roberto Barahona, Gilberto Muñoz, and Jorge Sandoval were detained on the night of March 23, 1974, by FACH personnel, as they were leaving a recreational venue in the Santa Mónica neighborhood in the commune of Conchalí.

Their bodies were found the following day at the intersection of Américo Vespucio and Recoleta. Gilberto Muñoz was in an agonizing state and was taken to the Hospital José Joaquín Aguirre, where he passed away.

A fourth person, detained under the same circumstances, managed to survive and recounted what happened to the families.

Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Roberto Ernesto Barahona Palma, Gilberto Antonio Muñoz Rojas, and Jorge Luis Sandoval Astorga were extrajudicially executed by State agents while they were in custody. Consequently, they are victims of human rights violations.
