On April 2, 1975, Gabriel RODRIGUEZ ALCAINO, 31 years old, a driver for the Homicide Brigade of the Investigaciones police force, passed away. Records held by the commission indicate that his death occurred under circumstances in which this officer attempted to arrest a group of militants from the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria (MIR) who were painting a wall with slogans against the Military Government on Avenida Fernández Albano, Villa Santa Isabel, La Cisterna.
The victim received a "thoraco-abdominal gunshot wound with visceral involvement and projectile exit," which caused his death while he was undergoing surgery at the Hospital Barros Luco.
This Commission reached the conviction that Detective Gabriel Rodríguez died as a victim of a human rights violation, for which MIR militants who attempted against his life were responsible.
