According to the statement of an eyewitness, during curfew hours, Francisco Millahuinca was behind the entrance gate to the alleyway where his home was located, on Calle San Camilo, talking with a neighbor; under these circumstances and without warning, a military patrol appeared and began firing at them, supported in this action by Carabineros officers.
Francisco Millahuinca received a gunshot wound to the head that caused his death. His neighbor managed to survive despite also being seriously wounded.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council of this Corporation, taking into account the time period and the cause of death, declared Francisco Segundo Millahuinca Araya a victim of the prevailing political violence.
