On August 30, 1974, Eduardo Alberto CANCINO ALCAINO, an employee and militant of the MIR, was killed. The victim had been detained on August 22 at his parents' home. The following day, he was taken to his home for a short time, where he managed to tell his relatives that he had been beaten.
The victim's body was later found at Cuesta El Melón. According to the death certificate, he died on August 30. The autopsy, while unable to specify the exact cause of death, reports trauma inflicted by blunt objects to the thorax, abdomen, lower extremities, hip, lumbo-sacro-dorsal regions, and scalp.
This leads to the conviction that his death was due to torture received at the hands of State agents, in violation of his human rights.
