In the first case, eight former DINA agents were sentenced for the aggravated kidnapping of a MIR militant; and in the second, two retired members of the Carabineros were sentenced for a homicide that occurred in 1973.

The Santiago Court of Appeals issued rulings in two cases involving human rights violations, investigations led by visiting judges Hernán Crisosto Greisse and Mario Carroza Espinosa, respectively. In the first ruling, the appellate court sentenced nine former DINA agents for their responsibility in the crime of aggravated kidnapping of Vicente Segundo Palominos Benítez, a victim of the so-called "Operación Colombo".

In this case, former agents César Manríquez Bravo, Pedro Octavio Espinoza Bravo, Miguel Krassnoff Martchenko, and Raúl Eduardo Iturriaga Neumann were sentenced to 13 years in prison as perpetrators of the crime.

Orlando Manzo Durán, Manuel Avendaño González, Pedro Araneda Araneda, Alejandro Astudillo Adonis, and Demóstenes Cárdenas Saavedra also received prison sentences as co-perpetrators. Regarding the civil aspect, the court confirmed the ruling ordering the state treasury to pay $100,000,000 in compensation to the victim's family.

In the second ruling, the Court sentenced two retired members of the Carabineros for their responsibility in the homicide of Nelson Jorge Flores Zapata, committed on October 2, 1973, in the Villa Robert Kennedy.

Miguel Ángel Álvarez Muñoz and Luis Alejandro Duarte Arriagada were sentenced to 10 years in prison. Regarding the civil aspect, the State of Chile was ordered to pay $100,000,000 in compensation to the victim's family.
