On April 28, 1983, according to witness reports, 30-year-old Daniel MEDEL RIVAS, a militant of the PS, was taken off an interprovincial bus at the seven-and-a-half kilometer marker on the road between Quillota and La Calera by CNI agents, who shot and killed him at the scene.
The Commission, having considered the gathered evidence, has reached the conviction that Daniel Medel was executed by CNI agents, and considers his death a human rights violation for which state agents are responsible.
