Clorinda del Carmen Apablaza Henríquez died that day at 23:00 hours, on a public street, due to multiple gunshot wounds, as certified by the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
Neighbors and family members stated that Clorinda Apablaza, a militant of the Partido Socialista and a community leader in her district, was arrested on September 21, 1973, at approximately 18:50 hours, at her home in the Violeta Parra neighborhood. Her home was raided by a large group of uniformed personnel belonging to the Buin Regiment, in the presence of family members.
Her body was located eight days later at the Legal Medical Institute.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Clorinda del Carmen Apablaza Henríquez was executed by State agents outside of any legal process while she was in detention, which constitutes a violation of human rights.
