According to testimonies provided by her family members, before the start of the curfew that day, the girl was with her mother on the balcony of the second floor of their home, located on Calle Luis Infante Cerda, in the current commune of Estación Central, across from the Alessandri station of the Carabineros.
Under those circumstances, a shot was heard coming from the aforementioned station, which struck the minor, who was taken by the carabineros themselves to Posta Nº 3, where her death was confirmed.
Subsequently, the carabineros apologized to the family, describing the incident as "a regrettable mistake." It was not possible to establish the existence of any judicial or administrative investigation that determined the respective responsibilities for the events.
