Armando Camilo Tudela Cortés died that day at 1:40 a.m., on a public street, due to thoracic gunshot wounds, as certified by the Medical Death Certificate from the Legal Medical Institute.
According to eyewitnesses, he was struck by gunfire from military personnel while walking, during curfew hours, through a vacant lot located at the intersection of the Américo Vespucio beltway and Avenida Recoleta, in Conchalí, Santiago.
The body remained at the scene until the following morning, before being transported to the Legal Medical Institute. He was buried without his family being informed of what had occurred, in Section 29 of the General Cemetery of Santiago, where he remained until 1981, the date on which he was cremated.
Considering the evidence gathered and the investigation conducted, the Superior Council, having regard to the circumstances, the period, and the cause of death, declared Camilo Armando Tudela Cortés a victim of the prevailing political violence.
