Amalindo del Carmen Beiza Beiza died that day, at the intersection of Avenida Grecia and Américo Vespucio, due to abdominal and thoracic gunshot wounds, as stated in his Death Certificate.
According to eyewitnesses, he was detained on September 17 at his workplace, the Municipality of Colina, by soldiers from the Paratrooper and Special Forces School based in Peldehue and taken to that military unit.
On September 19, his spouse was informed that he had been transferred to the Estadio Nacional, where he appeared on the lists of detainees. His family found him dead at the Instituto Médico Legal on September 26.
Considering the background information gathered and the investigation conducted by this Corporation, the Superior Council reached the conviction that Amalindo del Carmen Beiza Beiza was executed while being held in detention outside of any legal process, by State agents who violated his human rights.
