On that day, the company to which Corporal Luna belonged was advancing toward the La Moneda Palace when snipers positioned in the immediate vicinity opened fire, striking the Corporal in the neck. The events occurred at approximately 17:30 hours.
The records reveal that the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound while on active duty, and that a situation of general confrontation was taking place in the area of the La Moneda Palace that day.
Based on the above, this Commission reached the conviction that 2nd Corporal Agustín Luna died as a victim of the situation of political violence.
